COPPER STAR
Smuggled out of Nazi Germany after working in the resistance, Louisa finds herself waiting out the war in a dusty Arizona copper mining town. Sponsored by the Reverend Robert Gordon, Louisa quickly discovers he is hiding a tragic secret. Louisa irritates, intrigues, and charms Robert, soon becoming an indispensable part of his household.
Trouble begins to brew when Friedrich Mueller, a prominent resident of Copper Springs and avid Nazi sympathizer, ferrets out Louisa's background. Soon Louisa is once again running for her life. Can she outfox a fox like Mueller? Or will she be sent back to Germany as a hostage exchange, facing certain death?
COPPER FIRE-THE SEQUEL
On a summer day in 1945, Louisa Gordon receives a telegram from the International Red Cross Tracing Service. Her young cousin, Elisabeth, has just been released from Dachau, a concentration camp, and Louisa is her only remaining relative.
Determined to go to war-torn Germany to retrieve her cousin, Louisa is also on a mission to discover the whereabouts of Friedrich Mueller, a Nazi sympathizer who fled Copper Springs, Arizona. What Louisa never expected was to meet the man she had once loved. And now hated.

I don’t remember when a story has had me so engrossed and enthralled that I would wake up very early in the morning (after having stayed up very late the night before) to read the last chapter. I have known for a very long time what a great/fine/excellent/etc. author Suzanne Woods Fisher is, but this book raised her so much higher in my estimation.I was a little girl during World War II – I was born July 27, 1934 – and I remember the stories in the news about the concentration camps and the terrible, unspeakable things that Hitler and the Nazis did to so many people, in particular to the Jewish people. I saw the newsreel films that were shown in the movie theaters. I had an aunt who served as an Army nurse in Europe, as well as an aunt and uncle (brother and sister) who served in the Army in the South Pacific. The war was very real to me. I remember rationing. I remember how angry my mother was at not being able to buy silk stockings and not being able to buy certain items at the grocery market (pork chops and canned tuna in particular). My Dad was not able to actively assist in the armed services, but he was a Civil Patrol officer and patriotically served to the best of his ability. I remember the air raid drills in my school in which we had to get under our desks until the all clear sound, and the black outs and curfews at night.
This book series brought many of those memories back to life as I devoured the words Suzanne put to paper (even though I read it on my Kindle).
I’m especially grateful that Suzanne not only writes the human stories, but she writes the spiritual stories and tells how God involves Himself into the lives of men and women and brings them joy and also glory to Himself.

The Copper Series edition by Suzanne Woods Fisher Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
I loved this series!! Suzanne Woods Fisher is one of my favorite authors. She writes with humor, values and faith.
This is the best thing I've read in a long time. Suzanne Woods Fisher really did her research well for these books. I didn't want the story to end. I hope she'll revisit the topic in the future and continue the story.
I loved this book. I always read her Amish books which I so love but this was different and very enjoyable.
Wow! This was an unexpected and great read. I could not put it down and was glad for the sequel being included in this great book. I have read a lot of Suzanne's Amish books, but this one was great and I loved the characters and the suspense.
This was an interesting series. I enjoyed it very much. Some of it was a little unrealistic but all in all a good series.
I loved this series! Best I've read in awhile! So interesting, page turner, intrigue, romance, and so many things going on! Great characters! No repeated verbs over and over!
I might just read it again to make sure I didn't miss anything! Which I normally don't do! Highly recommend!⭐️
This book is soo interesting, besides having a story line it also gives you insight into world war 1 when the jewish people were tortured by Hitler. I had never read a book with any war issues before and was very glad I did this time. Recommend it highly as well as any books by Suzanne Woods Fisher.
