Odd story, but my daughters thought it was funny and were engrossed in the story. This was a required book for summer reading entering third grade, with a book report and project that had to be completed. So I read it aloud and my 6 year old also enjoyed it.
This was not the book - it was only the beginnings of 3 books - including Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Very frusterating as we really wanted to read the entire book of The Magic Finger
A quick read, I read this aloud to my daughter in about 30 minutes. It has pictures on nearly every page. Less humor and preachier tone than most Roald Dahl books, which I found disappointing.
But way overpriced. This is just a short story sold for the price of a full length book.
My child liked the book but commented that 1/4 of the book was an advertisement.
My daughter thought this book was amazing and loved the pages that had the drawings.
Great book. Daughter had to read it for book club.
